I’m an Australian actress, singer and writer based in New York. As a kid I lived on a steady diet of Linda Carter’s Wonder Woman, Fiddler On The Roof and Blazing Saddles, which pretty much shaped my outlook on life. 

 

One day on the school bus coming back from camp, it was discovered I could sing and by the tender age of 14, I was singing in jazz and blues clubs at night and going to school in the day. By 16 I was running my own bands and that was life for the next 20 years. Over 3500 live shows, featured on House DJ singles, some morning show appearances and the release of a solo album. 

 

But still creatively hungry, I found my way to acting school. The devouring of scripts, the play, the rehearsal, discussions with teachers and actors, all with a common goal - find the truth within the work. This lead to the creation of my one woman musical, BETWEEN THE BARS, set in a jazz club, 5 women whose ages span 5 decades, all connected through longing and hope.

 

After acting school the next adventure was New York. One of the major creative bellies of the world, NYC is like a crazed God Mother daring us to dive deeper into who we are. It’s also home to some of the great teachers and thankfully the fates landed me in Joan Lader’s studio. We went to work, retraining for musical theatre. Since being in NYC I’ve been in such works as Fiddler On The Roof, The Glass Menagerie, and Prime’s Ètoile.

 

So that’s me in five-ish paragraphs. Right now, I’m in preproduction for the preproduction of a TV show I’ve co-written and like most actors, in the audition room. This is the life. It ain’t for the faint hearted, but god damn it’s a ride, so hold on, as there's still a lot more to share and discover…
